1.       The Preamble is the name of the introduction to the Constitution


2.       What are the goals of the Constitution of the United States as outlined in the Preamble?
                  -  To form a more perfect union
-To establish justice
-  To provide for the common defense
-  To secure blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our posterity
                  -Insure domestic tranquility
                  -promote the general welfare
              

   Three Branches of Government
Legislative: House of Representatives and Senate, make laws.  Senate has 2 representatives from each state.  House of Representatives have representatives depending on the population of their state
Executive Branch: President, enforces laws
Judicial: Supreme Court, Interprets laws, appointed by president and serve for their entire lives

First Amendment: Freedom of Speech, Press, Religion, Right to Assembly and Right to bear grievances
Second Amendment: Right to bear Arms
Fourth Amendment: Right to a search warrant
Fifth Amendment: Right to remain silent
Tenth Amendment:  Everything else is left up to the state

WESTWARD MOVEMENT

Thomas Jefferson bought  the Louisiana Territory from France
-12 Million
-Sent Lewis and Clark to explore it
                  -Gone from May 1804 -September 1806
                  -Went all the way to the Pacific Ocean
                  - Had never seen prairie dogs or buffalo before
                  -Native American Sacajawea helped along the way
                  -Become national heroes upon their return
